Ramadhan Tournament Recap

After a round robin that included an early tie, a walk-off double, and a very tight race for first place, all packed into one week, the Blue team headed into the tournament round as the top team, thanks largely in part to a favourable run differential over the Red team. However, the Red team would be the team laughing in the end…

In the first game of the semi finals, the hubristic Blue team (2-1-0) would take on the last-place Black team (0-2-1). But how the roles would end up reversing… In a beatdown that included 5 runs in the first inning, the Black team went on to thrash their opponent by a whopping 11-1 score. It looks like the #1 next to the Blue team in the standings indicated how many runs they’d score…

With the Black team cementing its spot in the finals, the #2 Red team (2-1-0) prepared for battle against the #3 White team (1-1-1). After an annihilation by the White team in their last meeting, the Red team prepared to exact revenge on their opponent. And as they say, “revenge is sweet.” This proved to be no different for the Red team, as they rode a 12-6 victory to the finals.

With the possibility of becoming part of a huge Cinderella story, the Red team and their offensive firepower looked to dismantle the Black team and their sudden resurgence. In a game that featured multiple inside-the-park home runs, plenty of errors, and a heated obstruction debate, the Red team proved to be the top of the class, taking home the trophy with an 11-3 victory. Leading the way for the team was Kumail Meghani, named Tournament MVP!
