…And now the lead up to the draft, we’re letting our writer talk to some of the teams and get some rumours ready for you in preparation for the draft. We’ll be revealing our rumours and the rumoured draft strategy for 3 teams at a time starting this Friday. So keep coming back to find out what to expect.

Our second session concluded last week, where we focused on defensive fundamentals and footwork. We also looked at hitting technique and how to generate power. The session finished off with a review of a some of the new rules in the JMS League this year, as well as review of Overthrows and Obstruction. We’ve included the notes from that rules session

This weekend represents the last two sessions, and if you haven’t played with us in the past and are registered, you MUST attend these sessions to be evaluated. Failure to attend will result in a negative draft value and likely a late round draft pick. It will be a major detriment to the team you eventually play on.

The rest of the winter schedule is fast approaching, for reference here are the remaining dates

• Saturday, February 20, 2016 (2-5PM) Registration starts at 1:30PM
• Saturday, February 27, 2016 (2-5PM) Registration starts at 1:30PM
• Sunday, February 28, 2016 (5-8PM) Registration starts at 4:30PM

We will be working on offence, defence, fundamentals, and better understanding of the game. All sessions will be conducted at the Masumeen Islamic Centre in Brampton. Remember that for those players that have paid their deposit for the 2016 year, these sessions are offered free of charge. For all other participants, there will be a fee of $5 per session.
